Chinese New Year

The Chínese New Year better known as the Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, abroad (China, Taiwán, Hong Kong, Macao and Singapore) is the most important holiday of the year.
the Spring Festival begins on the first days of the twelfth month of the lunar yearbook and lasts until the middle of the first lunar month of the following year. However with the modernization of China, some traditional uses are still being pursued today, but others have been forgotten, families carry out a thorough cleaning of the dwelling on the 24th day of the 12th month on the lunar calendar, to sweep the ghosts and ugly things of the year that concludes.

Due to the varied customs, some visit the tombs of the ancestors on the outskirts and others light incense sticks to greet the ancestors on their knees.

It is the last night of the lunar year in which to worship the ancestors with offerings, firecrackers are burned, dinner is made of the whole family and vigil is fulfilled.

That night the Chinese gather at home to dine together. The banquet does not start until everyone is present. If any member is missing, a service is placed for that person at the table, symbolizing the full family reunion. And many more traditions.

one of the most traditional and important garments to use is the qipao or cheongsam, and for men it is the suit adjusted with the collar.

The dazzling and bright Chinese New Year decorations never fail to capture the magic and energy of this fabulous season. As in the West during the Christmas season, all homes, businesses, shopping centers, offices, shops, airports, train stations ... as the Chinese New Year approaches they bring out their best adornments for this colorful season. A sea of red and gold envelops the city, bright lamps, plants and flowers of good luck are the characteristics of the season, announcing the arrival of the biggest and most important festival of the year.

I chose this festival because I always like to know the customs, traditions, etc. in the other part of the world and? Only because of that?
